Second, they come in a variety of bold, saturated colors that are popular for today’s biggest events. Finally, they pair equally well with classic options like roses as they do with rustic wildflowers. How to Care for Anemone Flowers

Your anemones will arrive closed, but don’t fret. Cut the stems at a diagonal angle under water then put them in a vase of lukewarm water. Use a tall vase to support the stems. Prepare flower preservative as instructed on the packet. Remove all leaves that would fall below the waterline to avoid foul-smelling and cloudy water. Change the water every one or two days. Anemone Flower Meaning

Also known as the windflower, the anemone is considered a symbol of protection against evil. They indicate the anticipation of something, can portend the coming death of a loved one and are a symbol of forsaken love. It was said that when the Greek goddess Aphrodite wept over the grave of her dead lover, Adonis, anemone flowers grew where her tears hit the soil. Red and purple/blue anemone hues are associated with anticipation and protection.
