Fresh Flower Vibes for 2017
Think Granny Smith apples… the heart of a lime… a bed of clover… and inchworms! This year’s Pantone Color of the Year is a beauty called “Greenery” – and we love what that means for Bloom’s brides in 2017!
Out with the dusty, soft greens of recent years, and in with fresh, vibrant, and zesty! This earthy bright green color is said to be “symbolic of the new beginnings” – could there be a better vibe for wedding flowers? Greenery’s pure green-yellow tones bring a rich depth to any floral design. Create bridal bouquets with an edge of naturalistic and urban flair. Lush foliage and eye-catching green flowers complement so many different wedding styles, from classic, elegant romance to high-spirited and festive!
Mini green hydrangeas, dianthus green trick, green carnations, bells of Ireland, green cymbidium orchids, and spider Anastasia green are just a few out of the many flowers that exemplify this Pantone color beautifully! Throw in bright and light greenery as well such as hanging amaranthus green, variegated aspidistra, lemon papoose, pittosporum, and ming fern.
Extraordinary Greenery Uses for Wedding Flowers
How will you celebrate “Greenery” with your wedding flowers? We’ve collected some great inspirations for fresh 2017 bridal bouquets and arrangements…
Go Green!
Green in general – including actually using only greens– is a really popular trend that we love. The 2017 “Greenery” choice kicks that up a notch! Here’s a stunning mix of the bright lime tones of mojito hydrangeas, the silvery green tones of succulents, and the lush foliage deep green of sword fern. We love this bouquet because it is different than your typical wedding design and sure makes a statement too!
This bouquet combines mojito hydrangeas with pale green tea roses and the pop of green hypericum berries. Held up against a white dress, this bouquet exhibits a true garden and romantic feel.
Classic Bridal Whites and Ivories
Green and white create a timeless and sophisticated look for any bridal decor. White roses, peonies, and hydrangea slated with the muted green of seeded eucalyptus and the brightness of maidenhair fern make this bridal bouquet for one to envy.
Punch Up the Purple!
Purple flowers and lavender flowers are popular wedding favorites for their regal flavor. Pairing them with a complementary green heightens the richness of the look. This gorgeous centerpiece is a wildflower lover’s dream with purple veronica, purple viburnum, green hanging amaranthus, and thistle dynamite.
Celebrate Festival Style!
Make your flowers bold and spirited that your guests won’t miss seeing by including “Greenery” with hot pinks, fuchsias, and oranges. This bride created this festival themed centerpiece with mini green hydrangeas, succulents, fuchsia stock, hot pink gerbera daisies, orange tulips, Billy balls, and coral roses.
Take a look at this incredible festival-themed hanging wedding decor. Its colors pop against bright green foliage, mixing dahlias, celosia, hypericum, and hanging amaranthus to create a vividly eye-catching creation.
Soft & Romantic Fete
Pair this popping green with calming tones of light pink and grays for a fresh take on a bridal classic. This mix of light pink roses, green hydrangeas, and dusty miller hints of silver and gray. It’s a stunning combination of antique and rustic themes.

How will you bring Greenery to your big day?
I really like this trend! Can you recommend some green flowers to go along with white hydrangeas and pink ranunculus? I think “greenery” flowers would add a cool touch! Great post!
Hi Stephanie! The Pantone greenery trend will look amazing with white hydrangeas and pink ranunculus. I would recommend to use flowers such as dianthus green trick, amaranthus hanging green, and pompon buttons in green. Their bright toned green color will make the white of the hydrangeas and the pink of the ranunculus pop! Thank you for the kind words!
Thank you for writing this blog post! What greenery flowers can you recommend to put in my arrangement? It is a baby’s breath centerpiece.
Hi Tomas! Almost any flower that is “greenery” toned would look great with baby’s breath. I would recommend mini hydrangea or perhaps green spider Anastasia mums because of their unique shape and texture. Green gerpoms will also look amazing because their bright lime hues will enhance the whites of baby’s breath. You should also consider mixing in another color for your centerpieces such as purple because of its complementary effect on green. This will add variation to any floral arrangement!
