We are ecstatic to share this real wedding that was featured on Party Slate! Johanna and Matthew’s outdoor summer garden inspired wedding was held at the Historic Polegreen Church in Richmond, Virginia. This wedding was filled with hydrangeas, dahlias, silver dollar eucalyptus, coffee foliage, and monte casino asters. Their gorgeous tented wedding has us swooning!

Summer Garden-Inspired Wedding

DIY touches pulled the day together and added a personal feel. The couple created CD place cards that symbolized their favorite bands and artists. Johanna purchased real and faux flowers to build the floral chandeliers and arbor for the ceremony herself. Their favorite moment was taking a college tradition that signified the end of the party by closing out the evening with the song β€œWagon Wheel” while everyone danced and sang their hearts out.

We love the floral chandelier and all the personal touches from the couple. They created a DIY bar decorated with a lovely bud vase filled with dahlias, silver dollar eucalyptus, and spray roses.

Some words of advice from the lovely couple:

Get a day-of-coordinator. Make room in the budget. I really would have loved not to have to worry about the little things.
